Getting Started...

I have been thinking about how to start this little writer's project of mine now for almost a year! I was completely oblivious to the whole underground blog scene until one of my girlfriends got knocked up and started her own blog to record the obvious...and she has done such a kickass job I wanted to be just like her and have my own little piece of fame. I mean really, this shit is cool - I am publishing my own writing here, right before my own eyes - I'm a star!

But then I got right down to it and tried to think up a name for my blog. I found myself lying in bed awake at night, tossing and turning and trying to think of things to keep my mind occupied long enough so that I wouldn't think about the fact that i wasn't sleeping, and it would appear, in the front of my mind. BLOG. BLOG. BLOG. In big pink and red and blue letters flashing behind my eyelids. Like the signs on the Strip in Vegas. BLOG. And I would panic! Jesus Christ what the hell am I going to call this damn thing? I can't start a blog and become famous before I even have a title!! I can't just name the blog - BLOG. So I went to Dax. My trusty girl Dax. And thanks to her, I now have a starting point.

So, Transient Tales of a Girl it is...I hope you enjoy the journey as much as she does!

See! Now there you go Dings. I knew you could do it. Heh. I'm still a little sad you didn't go with "Things by Dings," but I guess considering that's not even actually your name anymore, I can let it slide.

Transient really works here. A good thing considering when I suggested it, I wasn't even really sure that it meant what I was assuming it did. Heh. It does though. I looked it up.

Love you - keep them coming.
Dax.

Um, how rude of me. In case anyone else is feeling dumb and doesn't know the exact definition of "transient," here's the def from Dictionary.com:

adj.
1. Passing with time; transitory: “the transient beauty of youth” (Lydia M. Child).
2. Remaining in a place only a brief time: transient laborers.
3. Physics. Decaying with time, especially as a simple exponential function of time.

n.
1. One that is transient, especially a hotel guest or boarder who stays for only a brief time.
2. Physics. A transient phenomenon or property, especially a transient electric current.
